“I can’t afford life insurance right now, so I’ll put it off until I have an actual health scare. Then, I’ll be able to afford it,” said nobody ever!
The biggest problem you have with life insurance right now is the cost, right? One more thing to add to an already tight budget. I get it. Nobody wants to pay for something that seems like they will never use.
Do you know anyone that had an unexpected death in the family? An accident? A kid that needed braces? An ailment requiring ongoing medication?
Life happens and when it does, life gets expensive. You know what doesn’t have to be expensive? Life insurance.
Heh. I see what you did there, you say.
Life Insurance is a Solution, Not a Problem
Yup, I went there. While your biggest problem with life insurance is fitting it into your budget, you know what my problem is? My biggest problem as a life insurance broker in Alberta is the real, actual, gut-punch feeling I get when someone comes to me after a death in the family, an illness, or an accident. I’m happy to help anytime, but knowing that your rates are going to be higher than they could have been really gets me.
Food for Thought…Err…Data for Thought
I’m on a mission to get people thinking about their life insurance needs.
Yes, life insurance is easy to procrastinate on and it’s the last thing you think about when you are running marathons, climbing mountains, and eating your 5-7 fruits and vegetables a day; but, when you are doing those things, your rates are low and easy to manage.
Procrastination = higher premiums. That’s just the bottom line. While I’ll always search high and low for your best rates, statistically, the longer you wait, the more it will cost.
Your premium is based on your age, health, and healthy habits. You could be in a premium bracket today and get a diagnosis that affects your bracket tomorrow.
Rather than assume you can’t afford the premiums, why not have a conversation with me and get a quote? I’m not pushy, so you never need to worry about a million follow up calls and me rapid-fire hurling stats and figures at you. I do the research, get you your numbers, and print out an easy-to-understand summary of those options. Then, you can think about how life insurance fits into your budget, or not. Either way you’ll be equipped with the knowledge you need.
Okay, Time to Blow Your Mind with a Little Known Fact. Read on!
Brokers are regulated to act in their client’s best interests at all times. That means, if I do a needs assessment and I determine that based on your income you really and truly cannot afford life insurance at this time, I don’t recommend that you buy it.
Wait what? A broker not recommending a policy?
It’s the truth. I’m here to show you how life, health, accident, critical illness, and travel insurance fit into your overall picture be that right now, or how it will fit later when you are in a more financially stable position. I also have a wonderful network of financial advisors, credit counsellors, investors, etc., if you want further information on how to maximize your financial position.
Be in the Know
Your biggest problem with life insurance is not affordability. It’s not knowing enough about your rates.
A conversation with me (phone, email, text, in person, whatever, I’m flexible) can literally save you thousands of dollars later on.
So, what are you waiting for?
